The Quality Assurance, Gender and ICT Committee is responsible for ensuring that the University maintains high standards of academic quality and excellence, with a particular focus on gender sensitivity and ICT integration in teaching and learning.

Roles

The main roles of the Quality Assurance, Gender and ICT Committee include the following:

  • Developing and reviewing policies and procedures related to quality assurance, gender sensitivity and ICT integration in teaching and learning
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of academic programs and courses offered by the University
  • Conducting periodic reviews of the University's curriculum and instructional materials to ensure they are gender-sensitive and incorporate ICT
  • Providing guidance and support to faculty and staff on gender-sensitive teaching and ICT integration in their work
  • Facilitating the provision of ICT infrastructure and resources to support teaching, learning, research and administration
  • Developing and implementing strategies to promote gender equity and inclusivity in the University community
Compostion

The Quality Assurance, Gender and ICT Committee comprises of 9 members, including:

  • One member of the University Council (Chairperson)
  • The University Quality Assurance Officer
  • The Director of ICT
  • The Dean of each faculty of the University
  • One representative from the academic staff of each faculty of the University
  • One representative from the non-academic staff of the University
  • One representative from the Busitema University Students' Guild
  • Members of the Committee are appointed by the University Council for a period of two years and are eligible for reappointment for another term.
